Mesmer heroes are the best, but I think people get carried away acting like player Mesmers are alone on top of the mountain for PvE classes. I typed up this tier list in the "guide to PvE" post someone made earlier. The plan is to play PvE Open World (no strike, raid, fractals …) solo (or rarely grouping with weirdos if they happen to be around the same target as I am) In your mind, what seems to be the best spec to : Destroy trash mobs, going fast from one group to the other, for doing map completion, meta-events, collection for endgame rewards A better snipe burst class in WvW with none of the drawbacks of clones or being completely cancelled out by guardian reflect spam like Virtuoso. Mesmer used to be better in open world PvE for solo content (which doesn't matter much), but specter came in and it's basically a better scourge with more survivability and DPS. So u cant die. Like for real. U just cant die. U can use this class for chill farming cause staff and shades and also for wvw. In endgame u can epi bounce which is fun and u can support bad groups in facs with barrier. Now u habe a condi and a power dps class for every content (in pvp both are good). 1. MartRane. But when it comes to doing 5 man stuff you'll have your support covered. Necro+Mesmer. Mesmer because portals are always good in dungeons and such, and necro because it's by far the most capable "one man army" for any pve content. I had a blast doing dungeons and group events with a Reaper and Tempest duo. Potentially replacable with an elementalist. Ranger is used as a healer and support in high-end content but isn't necessary in easier content. Mesmer is used as a support/tank. Thief is technically the highest single-target DPS class at the moment. (Rankings here, in particular the small hitbox fight) A comprehensive Dualsense Controller Configuration for Guild Wars 2 (including all combat bindings, touch menus for mounts, UI, mastery/novelty skills, and squad markers) r/Guildwars2 • Arenanet, please add detailed descriptions to relics. You probably want to go Guardian then, It's got top choice builds in all game modes. Firebrand is the Meta Heal pick everywhere apart from PvP, For PvP you'd need to switch to the meta pick of Core Support Guard. 7. GFHeady • 1 yr. ago. Fun fact: I used to play Guardian around the game's release and when I returned a few months before EoD Hit 80 on my only char: Necro. You'll get a lot of advice but I have to say Necromancer is a lot of fun! Running a "Minionmancer" on PvE and having a blast. Hi! Welcome to GW2! First, this is not a "trinity" game. No threat mechanics means no way for tanks to control enemy behavior = no tanks. We have healing abilities and even specializations designed for healing roles, but none of it approaches the level of dedicated healers from a trinity game because this game is simply not designed to support that.
