If that's the case, I don't really think there is -- or should be -- any particular link between personality and race/class. There are certainly cultural differences that affect personality, but I just think it's boring and tired to fall into the "all charr are gruff and warlike" or "all asura are nerdy and arrogant" stereotypes, and adding
With reworked combat mechanics, a focus on Dynamic Events, voiced quest dialog, several new professions, fan-favorite races, and the massive open world of Tyria, Guild Wars 2 is far more epic in
Guild Wars 2 has a lot of options on how to play, from the race of your character to the class/profession you choose for it. There are nine classes you can choose from when you first start a
Notice, that this is only when we consider the already existing classes. Norn for example have shamans, but that should be a separate class. Asura utilize magic too, but, again, in ways that are not generally represented well by already existing classes. Sylvari firstborn are magical and physical powerhouses well beyond what their class should

I know the reddit Guild Wars community is stuck up on the notion of "Oh you can be anything you want actually because this npc character was-" and so and so whenever somebody asks any question related to lore-friendly race/class combos and they downvote their post to hell.
They can have more than one profession, but in the time of Guild Wars 2 they prefer to excel at one rather than split their skill between multiple as was done in GW1. Certain professions works better for certain races when it comes to lore. Such as Charr disliking Elementalist due to their history with magic and such. Frost59.
Second races would be Human, Charr, and Asura in that order. Humans worship Grenth. Charr fight ghosts on a daily basis so most bands of charr military know how to combat the dead and implement necromancy into their combat. Asura necromancer seem to be pretty rare.

That said, as I recall, idle animations have to do with the weapon and race and not with the class specifically, so you could just create an ele of each race, run up to pvp and watch them.
Races. The first choice you’ll make when creating a character is picking your race. There are 5 playable races in Guild Wars 2 and unlike in other MMORPGs, your race and profession combination doesn’t matter when it comes to combat efficiency. There are some racial skills but these are worse than those offered by your profession.
However, based on how there are 3 light, 3 medium but only 2 heavy armor professions, i'd wager that whatever profession we see next is a heavy armor one. As for what you listed, only the Shaman and a Martial-Arts type of Monk are different enough to be considered. As it stands, you can build a strong-opener Thief, a glass-cannon Warrior and a
